Key Updates and Features in 2025
GPT-5 Model: GPT-5, and later GPT-5.1, was gradually rolled out across all user tiers (Free, Plus, Pro, Team, Enterprise) and became the new default model. It offers significant improvements in multi-step reasoning, memory retention, coding, and general intelligence, with enhanced "Thinking" modes for more complex tasks.
Apps in ChatGPT: A major update allows users to interact with third-party applications (e.g., Spotify, Canva, Zillow) directly within the conversation interface. This shifts the user experience from browsing separate apps to conversational interaction, effectively turning ChatGPT into an AI operating system.
Enhanced Memory: ChatGPT's memory features were improved to automatically manage and prioritize the most relevant details from conversations, helping prevent a "memory full" state. Users have control over which memories are saved or deprioritized in settings.
